Founded in 1950, the American Society of Bariatric Physicians^®  is the premier professional association and source of clinical education and training for physicians and other health care providers focused on the treatment of patients affected by obesity and associated conditions.

Obesity Medicine Practice Guidelines
To ensure the highest standard of medical practice, the Society developed obesity medicine practice guidelines that outline four medical treatment methods for obesity. Patients may use the Find an Obesity Medicine Clinician database to identify physicians who have signed an oath to adhere to these guidelines of care.
